Academics
“Webb’s educational goals are simple and enduring: to develop men and women of character, to form in them the habits of a sound mind and sound body, to teach them to love the right things, and to foster passion for those things of the liberal arts and sciences which are interesting and worthy of study.” – Susan A. Nelson, Head of Schools
These are more than just words. This is what Webb academics are all about. The classroom is not just a place where students are taught. It is a place where they think unboundedly, discover and act. Our enviable class size, typically 15 students, guarantees that participation, interaction, and hands-on learning characterize the classroom experience.
And, learning goes beyond the classroom. At Webb, learning is also supported by other facilities that are far beyond the standard. Fawcett Library’s 23,000 volume collection and college-level reference section, the McCarthy Collaborative Learning Lab with its technology-rich workstations, the Webb Observatory, the digital media studio and the Alf Museum are just some of the resources available to Webb students. With all of this and more, it’s no wonder our students are bound to excel.
