Student Research

It's not every day that high school students are given behind-the-scenes privileges at the Smithsonian Institution, co-author articles and abstracts for scientific publications or make presentations at the annual meeting of the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology, an international event featuring a gathering of professional scientists and graduate students. Unless you’re at Webb, that is.
Students who want to dig deeper into paleontology do so through the Rogers Peccary Scholars program. Peccary Scholars undertake original research both in the field and in the lab. They take classes in paleontology. They work closely with professional paleontologists in the research process. They advance scientific knowledge. Sound like your standard high school science program? It’s just one of Webb’s many unique opportunities for discovery and unbounded thinking.
