There are a few phrases and words that are truly Webb's.
To develop men and women of character -- Your word is your bond -- Unbounded Thinkers -- Daughters Strong -- Boundaries of responsibility -- Honor bound -- Principes non Homines -- We love them all. They remind us of those whose shoulders we stand on, and they urge us to be and to do our best.

One of my favorite expressions of Webb's essence is from the honor pledge, paraphrased from the Athenian Code: "And, I pledge to transmit this place not only not less but greater and more beautiful than it was transmitted to me."

We have before us the opportunity to be the leaders and stewards who make Webb truly greater and more beautiful. We have before us the challenge to strengthen the human, physical, and financial resources to nurture and advance Webb's mission. distinctiveness, and pre-eminence in an increasingly competitive global environment. And, finally, we have before us the responsibility to equip Webb to fulfill its promise as a center of educational excellence in the 21st century...
