Academic Departments

Webb’s academic departments – English, History, Math, Science, World Languages, and Fine Arts – are the cornerstone of the school’s educational program. Each department, made up of talented faculty who are experts both in their fields and in the art of teaching, breathes life into the school’s academic values through their course offerings, teaching methodologies, and programs. Whether mastering Spanish verb conjugations, studying the current global economic crisis, or learning the art of perspective in our visual arts studio, our students meet an engaging and rigorous college-preparatory curriculum.

This curriculum is strengthened by a strong spirit of collaboration among our faculty, who emphasize cross-disciplinary and interdisciplinary learning. Our drama teacher will guide 9th grade English students in the art of Greek theatre. Our math and science faculty chart the curricular crossovers in physics, chemistry, and even biology. Our history and English teachers share common writing and reading goals as they help students develop sharp prose and keen analytical thinking.
