Fawcett Memorial Library

The W. Russell Fawcett Memorial Library is a center for academic research and support.

It houses a 23,000 volume collection and has access to the holdings of 15 member libraries of the Independent School Library Exchange. There are more than 60 general interest periodicals, a college-level reference collection and numerous electronic databases. The library is also home to the McCarthy Collaborative Learning Lab which features 16 technology-rich workstations in a space specifically designed for students who want to work together in small groups.

The octagon-shaped library was given to the schools by Priscilla Fawcett as a memorial to her husband, W. Russell Fawcett, a Los Angeles businessman and a reform leader on the city's Water and Power Commission. Their son, David Fawcett '61, is now a teacher at Webb.
