  • 24th Annual Peccary Society Dinner

    In November of 1936, eighty years ago, Ray Alf took a group of Webb students into the Barstow badlands in search of fossils. What was found changed the course of Webb history: the skull of a new species of fossil peccary, a find that inspired Alf to devote his life to the study of paleontology working together with Webb students. This partnership, referred to as the Peccary Society, resulted in the establishment of the only museum of paleontology in the world located on a secondary school campus. At the museum’s dedication in 1968, Alf referred to it as “a living memorial to what students and teachers can accomplish together.”

    Dr. Jonathan Kelber '93 and His Team Discover Groundbreaking Cancer Research Method

    A groundbreaking cancer research method was discovered by Dr. Jonathan Kelber ’93 and his biology research team at California State University, Northridge. This new method is a novel way of extracting RNA from tissue samples. An article describing their findings was recently accepted for publication.
