Congratulations to Jackie Dong '12 for making it to the semi-finals of the 2012 US Physics Olympiad! As Webb physics teacher Dr. Laura Losey put it, “the test is designed to be extremely difficult; a score of 15.5 out of 25 is high enough to place a student in the top 400 nationally!" Way to go, Jackie!
And congratulations to Madame Dahi, who has just received a "New French Teacher Award" from the American Association of Teachers of French! According to the AATF, the award is "for a teacher new to the profession who has demonstrated excellence in French language, literature and culture and leadership in the promotion of language learning and international understanding; has given service to school, community, and state organizations; and has shown commitment to regional and national organizations."
A new putting green has been installed on campus, thanks to the generous endowment of our golf program by a Webb family. The new putting surface is 1,000 square feet, and offers two axillary chipping surfaces for additional practice.
The golf team opened their season with a win on Friday thanks to strong play from newcomer Cole '15.
James '15, is another newcomer who will be a lot of fun to watch over his career at Webb.
Alec '12, the only senior on the team, will be a good leader for the younger players.
Boys' volleyball had a strong win over Mary Star of the Sea last Wednesday. The team is currently undefeated at 6-0!
Big point!
How does he do it, folks?
As is tradition for a senior year chapel talk, the speaker often asks the student body to wear a special color or accessory, so Emma asked senior boys to wear a bow tie on Friday for her talk.
The other tradition of a chapel talk is the group pose at the conclusion of the receiving line.

Saturday's Sadie Hawkins Dance was a big hit with the students. Black lights and neon clothing provided a very vibrant display in the Copeland Donahue Theatre.
Our home golf course employs the greenest lawn care system around...see you next week!
