Austin Talleur Breaks Record

May 3, 2012

Austin Talleur, Webb class of 2012, broke a nine-year-old record in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.88 seconds, breaking the previous record of 22.05 seconds held by Eric Bourne, set in 2003. Talleur will have at least one more opportunity to break the record when he competes at the CIF division 2 prelims on Friday, May 11, at the Riverside Aquatics Center. In addition to being an outstanding swimmer, Talleur was also the top goal scorer for the Webb water polo team during both the 2010 and 2011 water polo seasons. His efforts in the pool were recently rewarded when he signed a letter of intent to play water polo for Pepperdine starting this fall.

Congratulations Austin. I'm glad to see Webb is recruiting and training some high performing swimmers. I hope CIF went well for the team.
