On April 19, the Prep League met at Webb’s track field under the sultry sun. Webb had recovered from spring break and was excited to start the events.
The girls took off in the 4x100 relay and won first with a 50.07 time. Then boys went in the 4x100 relay and got a close third place with a time of 46.09, but had some great passes. In the 1600 meter, Mairin Wilson '13, with strong focus, and Dolly Bai '14, in good spirits, did well. Wilson won a close third against another girl from Chadwick.
In the mile, Shaun Mazzio '13 and Marcos Lopez '13 made great time, with Lopez getting fourth with a time of 5:16:05 and Mazzio getting sixth with a time of 5:20:05, just four seconds from each other. In the hurdles, Ivie Tokunboh '12—Webb’s only female participant—placed second with a time of 16:23. In boy’s hurdles TJ Fenton '13 got second and Kevin Cao '14 placed first.
More glorious races were the 100m dash, where Amara Berry '12 got first with a 12.1 time, and in another round, Ricky Gonzales '15 was also first with an amazing time of 11.5. In a following round Jake Todd '15 got first with a time of 12.3.
Overall, both WSC and VWS placed second in the league meet.
