The Webb swim team traveled to Pasadena Poly for prelims among Prep League competitors. Varsity girls did well in their swim events, with Maddie Gaumer '15 getting tenth place in the 200 freestyle and tenth place in the 500 freestyle; Shannon Fei '14 fifth place in the 100 fly and seventh place in the 50 freestyle; Shannon Torrance '15 earning eighth place in the 50 freestyle; and Fei, Torrance, Marja Diaz '12, and Gaumer earning third place in the 200 freestyle relay.

Varsity boys also did well. In the 200 medley relay, Brandon Huang '15, Austin Talleur '12, Sam Chen '12, and Prince Wang '13 placed second. Wang also got fifth place in the 100 freestyle and Mickey Hamel '14 got eighth place in the 100 freestyle. Huang got fourth place in the 100 backstroke as well. Talleur beat Webb’s 50-yard freestyle record of 21.88 and got second place in the 100 freestyle. Chen got third place in 100 fly beating his P.R. of 57.21 by more than one second and third place in the 100 breaststroke. In the 200 free relay, Wang, Hamel, Talleur, and Chen all got second place.

In the end VWS took sixth place and WSC took fourth.
