Sam is mobbed by his teammates after belting a three-run home run to take the lead against Rio Hondo. Webb ended up trouncing Rio, and Sam hit another three-run home run, so it was a really good day!

The Alf Museum (and The Webb Schools) has over 75 years of history collecting fossils at Barstow. All of the freshmen get to go on a trip, learning about the museum's rich traditions and the basics of fossil collecting. The girls from The Vivian Webb School got their turn this past weekend!
-
Missy '15 holds a tiny fossil she found while on the trip. As Mrs. Kingsbury put it, "Our job is to introduce the girls to the Paleontology museum, but they end up being inspired by the same things Ray Alf was, the Earth and the sky."

In order to raise some funds for a staff appreciation reception, Daniel '13 and his friends organized a car wash on Saturday. The group raised over $300 and had a great time in the process.

The Animal Alliance, the ironically named gardening group, had a big weekend at the Webb Community Garden. From Natalie '13: "We sifted about 25 square feet of dirt with sifters that Mr. Walker made, then we installed a homemade bean pole. We weeded the whole place, and had time to spare to make a salad and some artichokes--all with organic, Webb-farmed food.

Webb's first Hackathon was held this weekend. Students learned the basics of video game storytelling and programming and made their own games.
-
Led by Mr. Coates (left), and Abhi '14 (standing center), the Hackers used an MIT program called Scratch to create their games.
