Monday's VWS Senior Tea provided a lot of fun for the faculty and students.
-
It can be difficult to get everyone in the same place at the same time, so "most" of the senior class posed for a shot just before the tea began.
-
Tremor, the mascot of the Rancho Cucomunga Quakes, a minor league baseball team near Webb, was a big hit during the freshman class field trip to a game last week.
-
For years Mr. Duque has been teaching the book, "The Natural," to his classes. This is the first year the Vivian Webb School students read the book and as such, attended the game with the boys.
-
For the first time in 17 years, the VWS softball team made CIF playoffs. They traveled to San Gabriel Mission H.S. and played a very exciting game that sadly ended in a 9-10 loss for Webb.
-
The team mobs Eryn '14 after she hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning.
-
Regardless of the outcome, the team was all smiles after the game.
-
Wednesday was the final formal dinner of the year. Thanks to the warm evening, blazers were not required.
-
It was a special formal dinner, one in which the students paid tribute to Al Alvarez who is retiring in July after 49 years at The Webb Schools.
-
Al's got a smile that lights up a room and warms your heart.
-
Following the tradition of a Webb Chapel service, the students processed through a receiving line for Al and his wife.
-
Now this is an outfit! Seniors are allowed a certain latitude with regard to their formal dinner attire, so William decided to really do it up for his last dinner of his Webb career.
-
Dr. Mark Nelson returned to Webb's campus on Friday for a weekend visit and held court with the orchestra students before their rehearsals began.
-
Members of the boys' football team, along with other Webb students and supporters, tailgaited during the baseball team's home CIF game on Thursday.
-
There was a lot to celebrate during a 16-4 rout of Upland Christian Academy.

Some members of the Class of 1953 visited campus this weekend. They were treated to a private tour of the Raymond Alf Museum with Dr. Lofgren, a tour of campus from current students, and a nice lunch at the Webb House.
-
Of the numerous weekend activities for Webb students, one was a photography trip to Santa Monica. As you can see, the cloud cover may have dampened the planned sunset shots, but not the spirits of the students.
-
Sunday marked the official celebration of Al Alvarez's retirement. Close to 200 people came to Webb and paid tribute to a man who has given so much of his life to Webb.
-
During the Alvarez festivities, Mr. Walker, who was on supervision duty, manned the sign-out books and helped Maxim '15 with his math homework.
-
Mr. Sittig was one happy astronomer during Sunday's lunar eclipse. He graciously set up numerous telescopes for the Webb community to safely view the eclipse.
-
Dr. Farke, another enthusiastic astronomer on campus, takes a look.
-
The big question was, "how do we safely photograph the eclipse?" Toshi '14 had the answer somewhere in his head...
-
The busy week came to a beautiful finale on Sunday evening when the Orchestra, Chamber Singers, and Choir performed their spring concert in Mudd Auditorium.
-
In all, 96 students performed on Sunday evening.
-
This may very well be the final arts performance in Mudd Auditorium as it is slated for a complete renovation starting this summer.
