The Week @ Webb is a photojournal of the previous week's events both on and off campus. Before the classes, before the evening academic labs, and before the exams, come the class retreats. Each school, Webb School of California and Vivian Webb School, hold separate retreats for each grade level. Some travel off campus for overnight trips, while others remain centered on campus with day excursions. But what is constant through them all is a chance for the students and faculty advisors to bond with each other and become a cohesive unit of support before the academic year begins in earnest. Pictures from some of the retreats, as well as other events from around campus are all in this week's gallery. Enjoy!

  • School pictures were last Monday, and, photographing other photographers is always a fun thing to do.
  • The Associated Student Body, or ASB as they prefer, held their "Welcome Back Rally" on Monday. Classes battled each other in spirit competitions, and watched a number of fun dance routines from the ASB officers.

    Seniors spent much of their class retreat learning about the college application process from Mr. Martinez, Director of College Guidance. However, they did get to have a little fun in the afternoons, as you can see from this shot of Mr. Sittig's senior advisory.

    Mr. Bartlett, Director of Student Life and VWS advisor, gets a little "cool down" from some students as he zipped down the line.

  • Before the college guidance began on Thursday, the seniors did some team building and physical fitness on the lower field.
  • The Class of 2013 is a terrific group, and they will be a lot of fun to be with over the course of this next year.
  • Mr. Duque, WSC Lead Class Advisor of 2013, helped hydrate the students.
  • The juniors met in Hooper Student Center to learn about their class hike in Laguna Beach the next morning.
  • How cool is it that Webb seniors brought an In 'N' Out mobile truck on campus?
  • Boys' water polo had a strong showing in a scrimmage on Friday. It was great to see our student athletes competing for the first time this season.

    The Alumni Council had their annual retreat at the Claremont University Consortium to plan for the coming year. This group of more than 30 alumni spans 7 decades and is committed to connecting alumni to the schools and each other.
