Going back to last weekend, Dr. Smith brought a group of Webbies to the Claremont Colleges for a Tedx presentation.

On Tuesday, Webb students had a very special guest of Mr. Robert Hefner and his wife Mrs. MeiLi Hefner. The two were on-hand to represent the Hefner Initiative, and to give a special lecture to the student body on Mr. Hefner's latest book, "The Grand Energy Transition."

Mr. and Mrs. Hefner met with Brandon '13 and Bobby '13, who were chosen by the Hefner Initiative to travel to China on a special scholarship.

Under a painting of his mentor, Ray Alf, Mr. Hefner and Mr. Stockdale held a conversational style lecture for the student body on the direction of America's energy needs.

After the Theme Week unveiling, Junior Fountain was a busy place for snacks and other goodies.

Parents Weekend 2012 is now one for the history books! Friday saw hundreds of parents attend classes and cheer on our student athletes.

It was great to see parents getting involved in the classroom. One father asked me, "Is there any way I can enroll as a freshman and do it all over again?"

A brief, but wonderful performance by The Webb Schools Orchestra kicked off a parents assembly in Hooper.

The Les and Barbara Perry Awards were given to two very deserving teachers this year. Sonsoles Cardalliaguet was the first recipient...

...and the second was Brian Caldwell.

And in a very touching gesture, Taylor Stockdale honored Joann Robinson, who after 22 years will be retiring in February, with her own Perry Award.

A special performance of Tiao Cruz's "You Don't Wanna" by the Chorus and Chamber Singers, with Stirling on the beatboxing megaphone, occurred right before lunch.

OMG - a hadrosaur! The baby hadrosaur has returned to campus from the preparator and was on display for parents and students on Friday. If you want to see the actual fossils, you'll have to come to this year's Peccary Dinner for the next viewing!

Dr. Smith, her son, Ms. Chew, her dog, and Mr. Bartlett took in the girls' volleyball game on Friday afternoon.

Saturday morning's Parents Weekend "Breakfast with Advisors" was followed by two panels for those who attended. Parents of Juniors and Seniors heard from Mr. Martinez and Dr. Smith about the college process, while Freshmen and Sophomore parents heard from Mr. Bartlett, Mrs. Lawrence, Mr. Wishek, Mr. Shin, Mr. Potash, and Dr. Fitzgerald on a variety of subjects.

SAT testing was on Saturday, providing the last hurdle for many students before October break. On a personal note, I hope everyone has a great break, you (we) have all earned it!
