Congratulations to our student-athletes for their outstanding athletic performances during the 2015 spring season. Many teams had impressive league showings, a few were league champions, and many individuals saw post-season play. VWS softball, WSC tennis and WSC golf brought home league championships and 41 students are being recognized with All League honors. Many athletes are now continuing with post-season action.
Last week we shared the sad news that after a brief battle with brain cancer, Jeff Nelson passed away on May 13th. A lifelong educator, he built a legacy of love and respect among hundreds of youth and families whose lives he impacted.
Capitalizing on a terrific 13-2 regular season, the boys’ tennis team won the Ambassador League Championship, their first league title since 2009. Following up on their regular season League title, the team moved on to Individual and Doubles Championships.
The boys’ golf team will once again be crowned League Champions after a decisive win in the San Joaquin League playoffs this past week. This is the second League Championship for the golf team in three years under coach Chris Paragamian.

The boys soccer team has advanced to the Division V finals of Southern California State Soccer tournament following their 2-0 win over LA City Section champion Community Charter. The Gauls will be competing on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 5:00 pm. versus West Shores.
**UPDATED** Boy's soccer defeated Riverside Prep in second round action and has advanced to CIF Quarterfinals. The team will travel to Laguna Seca in Santa Barbara on Friday, February 27th for a 3:00 pm start time.

For the first time in team history Vivian Webb varsity tennis won a League Championship. The team played strong all season, completing an undefeated league record – a first for any Webb tennis team in recent history. Additionally, the team qualified for CIF playoffs for the first time since 2003.

Webb School of California soccer standout Daniel Crisostomo has committed to play soccer for UC Irvine, the number 9 ranked team in the nation in the most recent NCAA Div 1 men's college soccer poll.
Andrew Lantz ’10, recent Davidson graduate and both Webb and Davidson record holder, was named USTFCCCA All-Academic in Division I for the 2013-2014 men’s track and field season by the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. This distinction was given to an elite group of student athletes for their combined athletic and academic achievements.
