Webb education has always been as much about character education as it is about academic advancement. To continue and enhance this foundational mission, a permanent, reliable flow of funds is necessary to ensure sufficient resources to instill a strong education in ethics and to create ongoing opportunities for leadership training.
The following are examples of existing endowment funds that support character education:
The Clifford S. Heinz '37 Fellow in Ethical Education
The holder of this fellowship is Assistant Head of Schools Taylor Stockdale, who has served Webb for over 20 years. In his capacity as the Heinz ’37 Endowed Fellow, he oversees all programs on campus related to character development. Ultimately, as the Heinz Fellow, he works closely with the Head of Schools to instill in our students the qualities of leadership that are of greatest importance – qualities such as trustworthiness, responsibility, fairness, patriotism and honor.
The Ip Family Student Leadership Development Fund
This endowed fund will be used to provide financial support for student leadership training. Such opportunities include attending regional and national conferences, developing student leadership retreats, bringing guest speakers to campus and participating in other programs that foster leadership skills. The fund was established by Regina Ip, parent of Cynthia Ip ’08.
