The future holds great promise for Webb, which continues to attract the best and the brightest students and teachers. These leaders of tomorrow and their mentors appreciate Webb for its ability to stimulate their intellect, expand their interests and nurture their ideals. In keeping with Thompson Webb’s vision, the schools must also provide a physical environment to match our distinctive programs. To this end, the Board of Trustees has committed to a $40 million campaign for Webb to complete phase one of the campus master plan and to double its endowment.
Campus Master Plan: $20 million
Webb’s dormitories and faculty housing must be upgraded and increased. Expanded, renewed and different facilities are needed for the academic and athletic programs. The campus master plan provides guiding principles for the implementation of these projects.
Endowment: $15 million
A healthy endowment is a line of defense against faddish thinking that forces some institutions to stray from or abandon their core values and mission. Webb’s near-term goal of doubling its endowment to $30 million will bring it closer to the greater goal of funding salaries and financial aid from endowment income, as is the standard at other renowned schools.
The Webb Fund: $5 million
The Webb Fund annually supports The Webb Schools by helping close the gap between tuition and the cost of operating the schools. This enables Webb to keep pace with educational needs and supplements maintenance of classrooms, dorms and faculty housing. Each unrestricted gift is invested where it can do the most good and where it can benefit students directly and efficiently.
