Webb's Core Values

T hompson Webb’s dream of a school for boys was realized in 1922 when the first 14 students walked through the doors of Webb School of California in the Claremont foothills. More than eighty-five years later, and with a girls’ school to match the boys’, The Webb Schools remain committed to his vision to develop young leaders of character who demonstrate through their actions virtues of enduring worth.

At Webb, standards are high not only for academics, but for personal and community integrity as well. Honesty, responsibility, respect, fairness and compassion define the culture of the school and are acted upon, not merely discussed.

For this purpose and with this vision, Webb is committed to four key principles:

     • developing young leaders of  honor ,
     • promoting
academic distinction ,
     • fostering a passion for learning
       and
unbounded thinking ,
     • the transforming merits of the

boarding school life .
