The Student Experience

Weekends at Webb

On Campus

For Webb athletes, Saturday is frequently a game day. Student drama performances, dance company shows, and concerts are often held on Saturday and Sunday nights. Campus special events are frequently held on weekends such Theme Week, LA Times Cultural Show, Jubilee Music Festival, Webb Day and a variety of student dances.

There is always an assortment of weekend activities, ranging from movie nights, barbecues, and karaoke, to club-sponsored events like paintball or laser tag, as well as teacher-organized activities like ice cream making, knitting, and baking. Students can also make snack runs to nearby markets.

Los Angeles and Beyond

While there are always things to do without ever leaving campus, the weekends are also a chance for students to get involved with off-campus community service projects or explore the many landmarks and cultural attractions of the Los Angeles area: visits to the Huntington Library, Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), or the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA); excursions to Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, or Universal Studios; architecture tours; and home games of L.A.'s major sports franchises, including Lakers and Clippers basketball, Dodgers and Angels baseball, Kings and Mighty Ducks hockey, and, for college sports fans, Pacific-12 Conference stars USC and UCLA.

Mountains, Beaches and Desert

For students looking to spend more time in the great outdoors, there are also regular outings to Southern California beaches and hiking, camping, or skiing trips.

Activities are announced each week via the school intranet, and students can sign up at the Student Store at the Hooper Student Center. With so many choices for fun and adventure, the real question isn't what there is to do on the weekend, but how to fit it all in.
