Doug Gregg '66 is a longtime supporter of Webb and a past reunion chair. He resides in Carlsbad with his wife Christine. Doug was a Deputy District Attorney for the County of San Diego, until his retirement in 2008. He attended USC for his undergrad and received his JD from California Western Law. At Webb, Doug was a member of the choir for four years (under the direction of Bill Blanchard '51), and a member of the folk singing group, New Essex Three. He was also an active member of Block W, playing varsity tennis for three years, JV football, and varsity football. Doug became President of the Alumni Council effective July 1, 2017. Member since 2012.
Whitney (Sevesind) Wharton '05 received her BA in psychology from Georgetown University. She was formerly an Assistant Managing Clerk for the law firm Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP in Washington, DC. Whitney and her husband relocated to southern California in July 2013, and she started work as a Project Engineer with Dickinson Cameron Construction Co. in Carlsbad. She is currently a Project Engineer at Tri-North Builders and is co-chair of the Alumni Council's Women of Webb Affinity group. Whitney became Vice President of the Alumni Council on July 1, 2017. Member since 2013.
William "Bill" Ripley is a California native, who attended Webb School from 1956 to 1960. He was a member of the Camera Club and yearbook staff, He started the Chapel Guild and participated in soccer and track. He attended Hobart College for 2 years and then entered the U.S. Peace Corps and served in Peru for 2 years. Returning in 1966, he finished his B.A. degree in Spanish and Latin American Studies from the University of Redlands. He taught at the Dunn School for three years and then spent a year in Spain earning a Master’s Degree in Spanish literature from Middlebury College. He joined the Webb faculty in 1971 and taught Spanish and was the College Counselor until 1981. In 1979 he served one year as interim headmaster. He left Webb in 1981 to attend Princeton Theological Seminary where he received a Master’s in Divinity in 1984. He was ordained in the Presbyterian Church USA and served churches in Texas and California. Currently Bill is an adjunct professor of Spanish at Rio Hondo Community College and Azusa Pacific University. Most recently, Bill and his wife Erin spent an incredible three weeks in Peru with members of the Peccary Society. Member since 2018.
Dwight Morgan ’65 is formerly an Area Communications Technician for Southern California Edison Company. He is now retired and enjoys traveling and participating in a car club for Chevy SSR convertible owners. While at Webb, Dwight was an avid member of the Camera Club, the peccary society, and the theater stage crew. Although he graduated from another high school, Dwight greatly appreciated his time at Webb. He joined the Alumni Council in 2005.
Bill Halstead ’67 has held the titles of vice president for Dean Witter Company, vice president of Morgan Olmstead Kennedy & Gardner Capital, and vice president of Bateman Eichler, Hill Richards. While at Webb, Bill played football, ran track, and sang for the glee club. He later served in the US Army and graduated from UC Santa Barbara where he majored in Law and Society and minored in Economics. Bill and his wife Zandra are retired and splitting their time living in Pine Mountain Club, California and Prescott, Arizona. Member since 1984.
Joe Thomas ’70 is currently living in Rancho Cucamonga with his wife, Cheryl. He is the broker-owner of Realty World ALL STARS in Alta Loma and Red Carpet Escrow Services. He studied English Literature at Claremont McKenna College and Business at Cal Poly Pomona. In 1976 he joined Cornet Stores, a chain of general merchandise retail stores headquartered in Pasadena, California and retired in 1996 as Chief Operations Officer. He began a new career helping clients purchase and sell residential real estate. That evolved into teaching real estate service, presentations and marketing to agents throughout Southern California until he opened his brokerage in 2007. Joe and Cheryl are volunteer puppy raisers for Canine Companions for Independence, a non-profit Service Dog provider. Joe is currently serving on the Planned Giving Advisory Council for The Webb Schools and is an enthusiastic supporter of the Alf Museum and red wine. This is Joe's first year on the Alumni Council.
Jim Boyce is a big fan of The Webb Schools and The Raymond Alf Museum, having previously served on the alumni council. Jim received his BA from Sarah Lawrence College in New York where he met his wife of thirty-seven years, Virginia “Ginny” LeBlond Boyce. Jim also has an MFA in Theatre from UCLA and an MA in Education from Pepperdine. Jim is a teacher with LAUSD on the Westside of Los Angeles. Jim is most proud of his two daughters who attended the Vivian Webb School, Emily, class of ’04 and Kelly, class of ’06. Member since 2018.
Ed Ratinoff '83 is the managing partner of the real estate investement firm James Investment Partners, which specializes in commercial properties in the San Francisco Bay Area, greater Los Angeles Area and selected cities on the west and east coasts. He is the proud parent of a recent Webb graduate: Josh Ratinoff, WSC '17. Ed received his bachelor's degree from UC Berkeley and his MBA from Northwestern University. Member since 2017.
Coleen Martinez ’86 earned her BA in Spanish from Pitzer College and MA in Education from Claremont Graduate School. For the past seven years, Coleen has worked as a second grade teacher at Foothill Country Day School. She currently resides in Upland, California with her husband, Hector Martinez, Director of College Guidance at The Webb Schools. Member since 2001.
Bob Connolly '89 is a licensed clinical psychologist and the Executive Director of Connolly Counseling & Assessment, with locations in Claremont, Pasadena, Los Angeles and Orange County. Bob's parents were math teachers at Webb from 1982 to 1991, and his two sisters Sara '90 and Veronica '93, also attended Webb. In 1998 Bob lived with and took care of Ray Alf during his last year on campus. After Webb, Bob attended Pitzer College and worked as a math tutor and then as a social worker. He got his MA in theology from Claremont School of Theology and then his doctorate in psychology from Alliant International University. Bob has been an active alumnus hosting students and young alumni for Unbounded Days and Webb@Work internships.
Praveena Jeereddi '90 is president of the Hospitalist Corporation of Inland Empire, a medical group servicing Pomona Valley Hospital and various medical facilities in the Inland Empire. She received her BA in Psychology from UC San Diego and completed her Internal medicine training in New York. She resides in Claremont with her husband and three children and as a medical doctor has served the geriatric population in the local area since 2001.
Jason Blackwell '91 has been involved with the Council's archiving project and networking programs, like Webb@Work, and a regional representative in Portland. He welcomes the opportunity to serving the alumni community. Jason is the Associate Vice President of Operations at California College of the Arts. Previously he was the Operations Manager for the Portland Center for the Performing Arts and the San Francisco Ballet. Jason received his bachelor's degree from UC Berkeley. He resides in San Francisco with his family. Member since 2012.
Kunal Shah '97 is a founding partner at PBS Engineers in Glendora, California. He has been an active volunteer for many years, serving as a reunion chair, class agent, and a frequest guest speaker at Sophomore Career Evening. Kunal received his BS with honors from UC Irvine. He lives in Orange County with his wife and two children.
Kathy Fredrich '02 graduated from the University of California at San Diego with a BS in Animal Physiology & Neuroscience and a BA in Psychology. She is currently the Associate Manager, Global Brand Development & Marketing at Hasbro and was previously in the pet industry for about a decade working at Natural Balance Pet Foods. She has also been involved with the UC San Diego Alumni Los Angeles Regional Club since 2006 and has served as a past Club President. While at Webb, Kathy was a Dorm Counselor at North Hutch and was active on the volleyball and basketball teams. Member since 2013.
Jordan Taylor '02 is the Co-Founder and Partner at Kwontified, an eCommerce management and SaaS startup based in Seattle, WA. Jordan received a BA from Cornell University and a JD from University of Notre Dame School of Law. He has been an active volunteer serving as a reunion chair and guest speaker at Sophomore Career Evening. While at Webb, Jordan was a boarder, Rogers Scholar and member of the track team. Member since 2013.
Stephanie Ho ’04 is the Director of Finance and Operations at MGM Studios and moonlights as a cycle instructor at Equinox in Downtown LA. She is an MBA candidate at UCLA Anderson School of Management and has a BS in business management from Boston College. While at Webb, she played on the varsity basketball and track and field teams and was also a member of the student council. She has served as class agent since 2013 and co-chaired her 10-year class reunion. Member since 2016.
Aminah Teachout '04 received a BA in political science from American University and an MPA from George Mason University. She has been an active volunteer for many years, having served as a Regional Representative in the DC area from 2011-2014, a Council member from 2014-16, and a committee member and guest speaker for Women of Webb. Now that Aminah is back in southern California, we are pleased to welcome her back to the Alumni Council.
Jessica Anand Gupta ’05 graduated from Wellesley College with a BA in Political Science & Spanish Studies in 2009. She currently resides and works in San Francisco for Great Place to Work(R), a management consulting firm that specializes in workplace culture. Member since 2013.
Micol Issa ’05 joined the Alumni Council in 2017. She is currently an 8th grade English teacher at Brookhurst Junior High School in Anaheim. Previously, she spent four years in Haiti with H.E.L.P., the Haitian Education and Leadership Program, which provides scholarships to university-bound Haitians, and Ecole Supérieure d’Infotronique d’Haiti. Micol completed a Bachelor’s degree at Oberlin College and has participated in an intensive Arabic program at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. In 2015, she received Webb’s Rising Star Award, in recognition of her work as an educator. An active alumna, she co-chaired her 10-year reunion and volunteers for the Women of Webb sub-committee.
Katherine Kilmer '10graduated from Bryn Mawr College in May 2014. She joined the Council in 2012, serving as the Regional Rep in Philadelphia for two years. She has now back in Los Angeles enrolled at Pepperdine University's School of Law. Member since 2012.
