Professional focus: I hold a B.A. in biology with a minor in political science from Whittier College. In 2021, I earned a Master of Science in sustainability, energy and development from Durham University in England. I teach Evolutionary Biology and AP Environmental Science as well as coach VWS and WSC water polo.

Scholarly or professional activities: In June 2022, I worked on a sustainable agriculture farm in Portugal to gather hands-on experience in my academic fields. I also played water polo and spoke with coaches in Croatia to keep up to date on new coaching and water polo techniques from a country that has a high level of play. I’m currently exploring pottery, open water swimming and paddle-boarding.

In July 2022, I attended a pair of teaching institutes staged at Boston University by The Association of Boarding Schools (TABS) for new boarding school teachers. NowBoarding addressed the culture and traditions of boarding schools while the New Teacher Institute focused on instruction and classroom management.
