Professional focus:As a Humanities teacher, I have had the terrific fortune of being able to teach courses as wide ranging as Honors Modern Middle East, Advanced Studies Human Migration and Fundamentals of Composition. This year, I am thrilled to join the 10th-grade team teaching The American Idea, co-teach Advanced Studies Narratives of Travel & Places and revisit a course Webb allowed me to design very near to one of my core passions, Honors Poetry & Power. In addition, I will serve as assistant coach for the WSC cross country team in the fall and and as head coach of wrestling in the winter.

Scholarship or professional activities: Always needing to follow a creative life, I paint and write. I am the author of an epic poem, The Epic of Clair, published in 2014. An essay about the process of writing the poem was featured that same year in the North American Review. I also had a piece titled “Call” published in Poetry East magazine. I also participate in the National Council of Teachers of English.

Years as an educator: 21, with three at Webb

Favorite spot at Webb: The oak grove below the chapel lends me a quiet spot to stroll and listen to the wonderful array of birds drawn to our campus.
