Professional focus: I hold a B.A. in communications and a Master of Arts in teaching from the University of Southern California. I teach The American Society and Advanced Studies The Short Story. I also coach the VWS freshman volleyball team an the WSC junior varsity volleyball team. Before becoming a teacher, I worked in the entertainment industry for several years. As such, I’m particularly interested in critical media literacy and the effects of mass media messaging.

Scholarly or professional activities: I attended a pair of teaching institutes staged in July 2022 at Boston University by The Association of Boarding Schools (TABS) for new boarding school teachers. NowBoarding addressed the culture and traditions of boarding schools while the New Teacher Institute focused on instruction and classroom management.

Grew up: Pasadena

Favorite music or musician/band: Pop music and musical theater! I am a lifelong ABBA fan, so the Mamma Mia soundtracks will always have a special place in my heart.

Favorite book or author: The Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison

Favorite TV show or movie: I’m currently obsessed with Hacks on HBO.

Typical Saturday routine: I’ll typically take my little rescue dog, Rudy, on a long morning walk and then make a big breakfast of pancakes with my partner. And coffee, lots of coffee.
