Vivian Webb cross country runner, Lily Miller ’21, is on a winning streak this week with two wins in her last two races. The first came in a home-hosted cluster meet against seven other visiting teams where Lily ran her 3-mile race on a course winding its way from Faculty Field to Webb’s new wilderness area and up the infamous Mongo Hill.
The second win came at one of the larger invitational races in Southern California, the Bell-Jeff Open, where Lily is now back-to-back champion with a time of 18:55 for her 3-mile race.
“It was such a great environment. I was coming down the chute and had so many people cheering that weren’t even part of our team,” Lily said after the race.
Webb’s cross country teams are noted for their exceptionalism. The Vivian Webb team is four-year San Joaquin League Champions and their teammates in Webb School of California have won a League Championship five years in a row. Lily was named Runner of the Year two years in a row and broke her own school record in the 1600m last season on the track team.

One of the best ways to fully appreciate a Webb education is to look at the lives and achievements of our alumni. Each year, we honor a group of alumni for their accomplishments since graduation and pay tribute to their continued commitment to the mission and success of Webb. These awards recognize distinguished graduates who reflect the character and leadership qualities developed at Webb.
Thank you to the 1,500 alumni, parents, past parents, grandparents and friends who enabled Webb to end the 2018-19 Webb Fund year successfully on June 30. Your generosity helped The Webb Fund to raise over $1.9 million, plus additional support for endowment and capital improvements, bringing total gifts to $7.9 million, including 13 new estate gifts, which has become an ever-increasing and important part of our advancement program. Over 799 alumni, spanning nine decades, participated with gifts received from nearly every class between 1937 and 2018. Thank you for your contributions!
