Webb Takes Part in Diversity Recruiting Fair

Nearly 250 job candidates registered for the third annual Southern California Diversity Recruiting Fair held Feb. 20, a virtual event hosted by a partnership of area institutions that includes The Webb Schools.

The fair was created to boost representation of black, indigenous and people of color (BIPOC) individuals at area independent schools. This year, applicants engaged in 1,156 text, audio or video interviews with 50 educational organizations, including Webb.

Video panels also featured Webb Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Coordinator John Choi, world languages teacher Malick Mbengue and students Aliza Tyndale ’21 and Nicholas Lee ’22.

The fair’s eight-member planning committee includes Webb Associate Head of Schools Dr. Theresa Smith and Director of Studies Michael Hoe.

“Webb is excited to support efforts like the Diversity Recruiting Fair, which help to attract BIPOC candidates to Southern California independent schools and advance diversity hiring goals in our institutions,” Smith said.
