Junior Scholars Summer Program Returns in July 2021

The Webb Schools will offer its Junior Scholars Summer Program for middle school students July 9-18 and July 20-29, held as two, 10-day residential programs featuring four signature pathways in Paleontology, Science & Engineering, Digital Arts and Global Ethics.

A virtual information session will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, March 29, 2021. Visit webb.org/summer for meeting details.

Middle school is a critical time for young people to experiment with independence, something many had to forgo with the shift to online instruction. The Webb residential and hands-on academic experience will reignite a love for learning and allow kids to reconnect: with themselves, their passions and each other.

Program details

  • Paleontology: Prepare and study fossils with world-renowned paleontologists at our one-of-a-kind Alf Museum.
  • Science & Engineering: Explore engineering challenges in our cutting-edge labs and connect with scientists from around the world.
  • Digital Arts: Create short films and 3-D models in our digital media studio and makerspace.
  • Global Ethics: Sharpen leadership and debate skills, advocate for issues you care about and engage with professionals who are leading change.

Each student will receive an assessment measuring the impacts of the past year of study and a program they can use to strengthen skills for the 2021-22 school year.

Students will live and learn on Webb’s beautiful 150-acre campus, nestled in the foothills of Southern California’s San Gabriel mountains on the front porch of the greater Los Angeles area, getting a taste of the boarding school experience that has been a Webb hallmark strength for nearly 100 years. Webb also has implemented a full slate of COVID-19 safety protocols.

Priority deadline is April 15, 2021. Following this deadline, applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. Click here for our online application.
