Students Leap into 2022-23 Academic Year

The Webb Schools welcomed students for the 2022-23 academic year in late August for what promises to be another extraordinary year. Webb School of California and Vivian Webb School enrolled a combined total of more than 400 students from across the United States and from 12 countries spanning the globe.

More than 250 students are residing on campus in Webb’s 10 dormitories; about 150 students are day students who live in the communities surrounding the 100-year-old Claremont school.

Students arrived the weekend of August 20-21, moving into dorms and attending orientation sessions as well as an all-school Convocation to launch the year. The following three days were dedicated to class retreats that took students to Southern California beaches and mountains.

Webb launched its academic program, which is known for its inspiration of unbounded thinking, on Thursday, August 25, with the first football game of the year and dance held that weekend.

Changes greeting students this fall included upgrades to air conditioning in all dorms, including the latest in protection from airborne illness, the first stage of a library remodel and the start of construction on the McMillin Amphitheater at the school’s center, a new facility named in honor of a long-time teacher who inspired hundreds of Webb students over the years.
