VIDEO: Daughters Strong, the Founding of the Vivian Webb School

On May 30, 2019, members of the Vivian Webb School (VWS) community gathered together to remember and discuss the early days of the school. VWS founding head Dr. Ann Longley was joined by pioneer faculty members Janet Macaulay, Joan Presecan and Kathy (Hasse) Simon, Head of Schools Taylor Stockdale, and alumnae volunteer leaders from the school’s first five classes: Christina Mercer McGinley ’84, Julia Marciari-Alexander ’85, Coleen (Leavitt) Martinez ’86, Janel Henriksen Hastings ’87 and Sandra Lee Rebish ’88.

Special thanks to:

  • Stephanie Buxbaum ’93 who produced and directed the video
  • Bob Connolly ’89 and Nancy Tung for hosting the event at their home
  • Rahmi Mowjood ’90 for helping to develop the project as part of the Alumni Council’s Teachers of Webb series
