Vivian Webb Soccer Wins First-ever CIF Title
Faculty Field thundered with shouts and cheers from scores of raucous fans on Saturday, Feb. 26 as Vivian Webb’s varsity soccer team battled to its first CIF Southern Section Division 6 championship title.
Webb, the tournament’s No. 2 seed, edged No. 1 seed Arrowhead Christian Academy, 3-2.
This is the first-ever CIF title for any VWS team.
The Gauls (8-0, 18-0) advance to the CIF State/Southern California Division 5 Regional Championship series, where they are the No. 1 seed. The single-elimination tournament features seven teams, including Arrowhead Christian, which is now seeded No. 2.
Webb will have a bye during the first round and play March 3 against the winner of a match between Girls Academic Leadership Academy and Mount Miguel High School. A win in that game would put Webb in the finals, set for March 5, conceivable against Arrowhead Christian.
