Webb Junior Scholars 2022 Brings Alumni Back to Campus

The Webb Junior Scholars returned to campus this summer, and with it brought several alumni from all over California, Arizona, Texas, Mississippi, and even as far away as New Jersey! The Webb Junior Scholars hosts rising 7th-, 8th-, and 9th-graders for a boarding-only learning experience in 4 tracks: Paleontology, Global Ethics, Science and Engineering, and Digital Arts.

The program is led by faculty and fellows which include several Webb Alumni. Alumni Fellows pictured are Alejandra Butcher ’18 (CA, Scripps College), Catherine Lou ’21 (CA, Boston University), Keigan McCullagh ’21 (NV, George Washington University), Leah West ’18 (CA, Trinity University), Maya Gutierrez ’21 (CA, University of Chicago), Maddie Stoddard ’18 (CA, Trinity University), Rebecca Whithorn ’18 (CA, Citrus Community College), Stephen Li ’21 (China, George Washington University), Nicholas Lee ’22 (CA, Brown University), Alex Xiao ’21 (CA, New York University), Jimmy Feng ’21 (China, University of Chicago), and Arshia Sazi ’22 (CA, Stanford University).

Junior Scholars come from near and far, and we were able to connect with several alumni who brought their children to Webb! Clifford Rice ’92, Heather Rohrer ’97, Elizabeth Lane ’91, Jamie Muldoon ’85, and Maren Berg ’90 were among the Californians to bring their students to the camp. We also welcomed Shampa Chatterjee Mukerji ’97 from Texas and Luis Corella ’96 from Arizona. Scott Kirk ’92 and Pia Chatterjee ’92 sent their student from Mississippi and David Huang ’88 sent his student from New Jersey. To say it was great to see alumni back on campus again is an understatement!
