Webb Robotics Wins Design Award
Webb robotics teams posted another strong season in 2022-23, with one team – 359 Webb.exe – competing at the Southern California Regions, held at Monrovia High School.
A series of unfortunate hardware failures put Webb out of contention, but the team still won two of five matches at the highly competitive event.
In addition, the team was selected as a runner-up for the Innovate Award for designing a robotic that cleverly used two extending arms to scoop up ups and drop them on poles – one of the competition tasks – in an elegant and efficient manner.
Forty-two teams – including some of the best in the world – competed at the regional event.
Webb also fielded two other teams during the competition season – 358 Gaulbots and 19888 Code Alfa.
