Summer is a busy time at the Alf museum. During the first half of June, a small crew comprised of museum staff and Bob Stoddard ’15 closed out the Cripe Site in southern Utah. This quarry was discovered by Jeff Cripe ’08 back in 2005 and has been the museum’s main dig site ever since.

The Peccary Society met for its annual Alumni & Friends Peccary Trip in Barstow, Calif. May 3-5, 2019. Over 75 alumni, parents, trustees, faculty, staff and their friends were in attendance with alumni representing 5 decades of Webb (1954-2007).

Webb’s second annual Giving Day was a tremendous success, with 565 donors giving over $194,000 in a 24-hour period from April 25-26 (noon to noon) to support The Webb Fund, the Alf Museum, scholarships and more.

Wilson Parnell '13 was a featured speaker at the TEDx University of Redlands event on March 23, 2019. In his talk, Parnell talks about promoting the disability spirit in a positive way. "It's simple. Focus entirely on your capabilities, rather than on your disabilities."
John Stuver ’89 has been accepted into the sound branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. He has been fortunate to work on a lot of great movies, but among the highlights was getting to do the last two James Bond films, Skyfall and Spectre, the first of which won the Oscar for Best Sound Editing.
During his tenure, Robert Connolly, Sr. was a friendly and supportive presence on campus, an inspirational educator to many students, including his own son. He is remembered not only for his service inside the classroom, but as a teacher they could relate to beyond math. Bob Connolly Jr. connected to his father through athletic and academic pursuits, and now he and his wife Nancy Tung have created an endowed fund in his father’s memory. “Dad always said that of all his teaching experiences, Webb was the best experience of his career,” said Connolly Jr.
Webb's advancement office received a silver award at the 2019 CASE District VII awards ceremony on February 21 in Anaheim, Calif. in recognition of its endowment donor stewardship program. Other category winners included California Institute of Technology, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, UC Davis and UC San Francisco.
In January, five alumni returned to campus for our first ever "Networking Essentials with Webb Alumni" session. Students spent Saturday afternoon with our talented alumni learning about vital skills they'll need to effectively network and succeed in the increasingly competitive and complex job market.
During the first week back from winter break, students and parents had a chance to hear from young alumni about their experiences at college including managing academics and being away from home, maintaining a healthy mind and body, as well as a panel on college athletics.
