Meet the Faculty

A Talented and Experienced Faculty

Of course, at the heart of a Webb education is a talented and experienced faculty, engaged in their subjects, in the art of teaching, and in the lives of their students.
At Webb over 83% of the faculty hold a graduate degree, 20% a PhD, and most live on campus with their families. Webb faculty also act as student advisors and activity leaders—all the while developing strong mentoring relationships with students. They are always there for students, whether they need homework help, sage advice, or just a companion for lunch.
Teaching and learning at Webb always extends beyond the classroom, as together our faculty and students explore their interests in a well-supported and well-connected learning community that includes the nearby Claremont Colleges, UC Riverside, USC, and beyond.
Even our unique location allows for myriad opportunities beyond the ordinary. As an example, our environmental science program takes advantage of our proximity to diverse ecosystems, taking students snorkeling and tide-pooling in the Pacific Ocean as well as hiking and spelunking in local river canyons and caves. Our chemistry and physics students visit local laboratories at the Claremont Colleges and in private industry, and our French students attend the COLCOA French Film Festival in Hollywood. World-class museums such as the J. Paul Getty Center & Villa, the Norton Simon Museum, and the Huntington Library & Gardens provide humanities classes with sites to explore everything from ancient Greek art and culture to the layout and design of traditional Chinese gardens. And on and on.
