John Rogers '59

John Rogers ’59 served in the United States Air Force, retiring as a full Colonel in 1989. He attended primary pilot training at Williams AFB, receiving his wings in 1964. He spent a year in South Vietnam, 1969-1970. Throughout his career, he flew transport-type aircraft including the C-124 Globemaster, and the C-141 Starlifter.

Today, John is the President of the United Samaritans Foundation and The Mary Stuart Rogers Foundation. He continues to fly as a charter pilot.

During the past two decades, Col. Rogers and his wife June and the Mary Stuart Rogers Foundation have transformed the lives of more than 220 students through the Mary Stuart Rogers Endowed Scholarship and the Raymond M. Alf Peccary Society Chair. Since it began in 1995, the Rogers Scholar Program has grown from 6 to more than 20 students each year.
