Peter Ziegler '63 was a partner in the Los Angeles office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher and served as co-Partner-in-Charge of the office from 1999 until his retirement in 2008. He has handled a number of significant matters, including the representation of Farmers Group, Inc. in its defense against a takeover by B.A.T. Industries in 1988; Computer Sciences Corporation in its acquisition of the data services division of General Dynamics Corporation, and the related information technology outsourcing agreements in 1992; the Times Mirror Company in its disposition of its professional publishing assets in 1998; the merger of The Times Mirror Company with Tribune Company in 2000 and several transactions on behalf of Northrop Grumman Corporation, including its acquisition of Litton Industries, Inc. in 2001, its merger with TRW Inc. in 2002 and the disposition of TRW's Automotive business in 2003.
Ziegler is the past Chair of the Executive Committee of the Business and Corporations Law Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and is also a member of the American and California Bar Associations. Peter lectures on corporate and securities law matters and also serves on the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association.
Ziegler received his B.S. in industrial administration and organizational behavior from Yale in 1967. He received his law degree from the University of Southern California in 1974. Prior to joining Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, Ziegler served in the United States Navy as a line officer from 1967 to 1971.
Throughout the years, his affiliation with Webb has been virtually uninterrupted. He served on the Board of Trustees for more than 20 years, was President of the Alumni Association, Chairman of the Alumni Gift Committee for The Campaign for The Webb Schools and helped establish The Class of '63 Endowed Fund with a major gift. He also made a generous bequest to the school during the Fulfilling Our Promise Campaign. In 2016, he was honored with the Colborn Distinguished Service Award for his service and dedication to the schools.

We are pleased and excited to announce the appointment of Jennifer Liu as Webb’s Director of Parent Relations and Special Events effective November 1. In this position, Liu will oversee our parent relations program, which serves more than 750 current parents worldwide and an active volunteer network through our Affiliates parent organization.
