Adriana LaCorte Maher ’89

An African porcupine and an aardvark are just a couple of her "coworkers." Adriana LaCorte Maher ’89 is a bilingual educator at the San Diego Wild Animal Park where she handles about 25 animals, including parrots, owls, alligators, and snakes. In addition to teaching programs at the Park, she also presents animals at schools, retirement homes, and even on the local news.

She is married to fellow Webb alumnus Brian T. Maher '88, with whom she has two young children. After graduating from UC San Diego in 1994, Maher served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Honduras for 2 1/2 years, teaching environmental and AIDS education in a small village near the Guatemalan border.

In 2010 she generously hosted a group of Webb students at the San Diego Wild Animal Park.
