These reports present an overview of the application process and outcomes for the graduating class, by year.

Overall

  • 100% of the class of 2009 was admitted to a selective four-year college or university.
  • 83% of the Class of 2009 will be attending a college ranked in the top 10% in the nation (based on data from The College Board, Fiske Guide to Colleges, and U.S. News & World Report on 1600 accredited 4-year colleges and universities in the U.S.). 
  • On average each senior received an acceptance letter from 5 of 8 colleges (62% of the schools to which they applied).
  • 28% will be attending college in the West, 5% in the North-West, 3% in the South-West, 7% in the South, 11% in the Mid-West, 44% in the East, 2% in another country.

Webb School of California

  • 52 boys in the senior class filed 392 applications to 144 colleges and received 239 acceptances (61% admit rate). Each boy applied to an average of 7.5 colleges. 
  • 71% applied to the University of California system and 98% were admitted. 
  • 31% applied to the Ivy League and Stanford, 31% were admitted. 
  • 88% applied to the top tier colleges/universities (not including U.C. and Ivy League) and 94% were admitted. 
  • 92% were admitted to at least one of their top choice colleges. 

Vivian Webb School

  • 46 girls in the senior class filed 340 applications to 143 colleges and received 211 acceptances (62% admit rate).
  • Each girl applied to an average of 7.4 colleges.
  • 70% applied to the University of California system and 98% were admitted. 
  • 20% applied to the Ivy League and Stanford, and 33% were admitted. 
  • 87% applied to the top tier colleges/universities (not including U.C. or Ivy League) and 93% were admitted. 
  • 89% were admitted to a top choice college. 
  • Almost 40% of the class applied to Women’s Colleges and 83% were admitted. 
  • 11% of the class plan to attend a Women’s College – Vivian Webb School continues to lead the way as one of the top “feeder” schools to America's most prestigious Women’s Colleges with an average matriculation rate of nearly 20% over the past 10 years.

Webb School of California 

  • 44 boys in the senior class filed 364 applications to 116 colleges and received 204 acceptances (56% admit rate). Each boy applied to an average of 8.3 colleges. 
  • 73% applied to the University of California system and 94% were admitted. 
  • 36% applied to the Ivy League and Stanford, 31% were admitted. 
  • 93% applied to the top tier colleges/universities (not including U.C. and Ivy League) and 93% were admitted. 
  • 86% were admitted to at least one of their top choice colleges. 

Vivian Webb School 

  • 45 girls in the senior class filed 343 applications to 120 colleges and received 219 acceptances (64% admit rate).
  • Each girl applied to an average of 7.6 colleges.
  • 64% applied to the University of California system and 100% were admitted. 
  • 31% applied to the Ivy League and Stanford, and 43% were admitted. 
  • 98% applied to the top tier colleges/universities (not including U.C. or Ivy League) and 87% were admitted. 
  • 91% were admitted to a top choice college. 
  • Almost 50% of the class applied to Women’s Colleges and 86% were admitted. 
  • 15% of the class plan to attend a Women’s College – Vivian Webb School continues to lead the way as one of the top “feeder” schools to America's most prestigious Women’s Colleges with an average matriculation rate of nearly 20% over the past 10 years.

Webb School of California

  • 47 boys in the senior class filed 347 applications to 116 colleges and received 198 acceptances (57% admit rate). Each boy applied to an average of 7.4 colleges. 
  • 60% applied to the University of California system and 97% were admitted. 
  • 34% applied to the Ivy League and Stanford, 19% were admitted. 
  • 83% applied to the top tier colleges/universities (not including U.C. and Ivy League) and 95% were admitted. 
  • 81% were admitted to at least one of their top choice colleges.

  • 39 girls in the senior class filed 351 applications to 124 colleges and received 209 acceptances (60% admit rate).
  • Each girl applied to an average of 9 colleges.
  • 69% applied to the University of California system and 100% were admitted. 
  • 31% applied to the Ivy League and Stanford, and 25% were admitted. 
  • 87% applied to the top tier colleges/universities (not including U.C. or Ivy League) and 91% were admitted. 
  • 87% were admitted to a top choice college. 
  • Almost 40% of the class applied to Women’s Colleges and 80% were admitted.

  • 53 boys in the senior class filed 409 applications to 132 colleges and received 252 acceptances (62% admit rate). Each boy applied to an average of 7.7 colleges. 
  • 60% applied to the University of California system and 91% were admitted. 
  • 41% applied to the Ivy League and Stanford, Caltech, MIT, 23% were admitted. 
  • 96% applied to the top tier colleges/universities (not including U.C. and Ivy League) and 90% were admitted. 
  • 77% were admitted to at least one of their top choice colleges. 

Vivian Webb School

  • 55 girls in the senior class filed 422 applications to 141 colleges and received 267 acceptances (63% admit rate).
  • Each girl applied to an average of 8 colleges and were admitted to 5.
  • 53% applied to the University of California system and 93% were admitted. 
  • 44% applied to the Ivy League and Stanford, Caltech, MIT, 25% were admitted. 
  • 95% applied to the top tier colleges/universities (not including U.C. or Ivy League) and 89% were admitted. 
  • 84% were admitted to a top choice college. 
  • 51% of the class applied to Women’s Colleges and 75% were admitted.
