Affording Webb

At Webb, we recognize that choosing an independent school, especially a boarding school, is a major financial decision for families.  For that reason, we are committed to helping families finance their children’s tuition costs and, therefore, making a Webb education available to all regardless of financial circumstance.  Our aid is need-based, i.e. awards are based on the demonstrated financial need of our families which is determined through a financial aid application process.  We do not offer academic or athletic scholarships which are typically not need-based.

For the 2016-17 school year, Webb has offered $4.3 million need-based financial aid awards ranging from several thousand dollars to nearly the full cost of tuition to 34% of our families from a broad range of income levels. This year our average boarding award was $37,000 and the average day student award was $26,000. These awards are grants--not loans--and, therefore, do not have to be paid back.

Within the limitations of our budget, and according to our financial aid policies, Webb uses the services of the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS) recommendations as a guideline in determining individual awards.

In addition to financial aid, we have partnered with Your Tuition Solution to offer affordable education loans to families attending Webb.

Financial aid is renewable and families are required to apply each year. For questions about our financial aid process, contact our Senior Associate Director of Admission and Financial Aid Jeff Stodgel at
