Professional focus: I have a Bachelor of Science in Food Science from UC Davis. At Webb, I am subbing for the Honors Microbiology class.
Years as an educator: This is my first year teaching high school.
Grew up: Palo Cedro, a small town in far northern California.
Live on campus: yes
Favorite spot at Webb: all the places I walk my dog – trails behind school, around the chapel, and the road behind all the faculty housing.
Favorite music or musician: a little bit of everything.. some are Dionne Warwick, Sublime, Dolly Parton, Sturgill Simpson, and The White Stripes.
Favorite book or author: authors where I’ve read most of their books are Barbara Kingsolver and Carl Hiaasen. A guilty pleasure is the series by Sue Grafton, and a few recent favorites were Sourdough by Robin Sloan and In the Dream House by Carmen Maria Machado.
Favorite TV show or movie: For TV I like Derry Girls, Freaks and Geeks, King of the Hill, and a lot of reality tv. A few favorite movies are My Best Friend’s Wedding and Pan’s Labyrinth.
Saturday routine: Probably some cleaning up around the house, taking the dog on lots of walks or to the dog park, working in the yard, and maybe making homemade pasta or cooking something with whatever produce we have left before restocking at the farmer’s market on Sunday.
