Welcome to Webb!

A Warm Webb Welcome

Theresa Smith

Congratulations – and get ready to dive in!

We are so thrilled to welcome you to this dynamic community, where you will get the opportunity to design your own education. Supported by our world-class faculty and in collaboration with other engaged students like yourself, you will build rockets, imagine new worlds, and explore other cultures, places and times.

Our academic program begins in our next generation classrooms, state-of-the-art science labs and creative spaces and extends into southern California. Our partnerships with faculty at the Claremont Colleges and beyond will enable you to access the exciting resources of Los Angeles as you define your own path.

Webb is a 24/7 experience. Our beautiful 150-acre campus provides space for reflection, facilities for athletic and artistic development, and community spaces where fun, learning and home meet. Life at a boarding school is exciting! You will build your confidence and independence. You will take on challenges and become a true leader with the support of a nurturing and inspiring community around you.

Our alumni attend the top colleges and universities in the country and go on to lead lives of purpose and meaning. The timeless values they learn here at Webb — our focus on honor, trust, and community — keep them grounded and connected.

At Webb, we are looking for students who want to change the world — who want to think, act, lead and serve in the spirit of our mission. Come join us!

Dr. Theresa Smith
Head of School

"My advice to you is to embrace who you are and push yourself to try new things. I know that it may seem a little scary at first, but I promise that everyone in the community is here to support and cheer you on. Webb has so many amazing opportunities waiting for you. So, try a new afternoon activity, go on that weekend run, apply for that leadership position, make new friends, and allow yourself to step out of your comfort zone!"

"To me, Webb is a place full of possibility, a place where my creative ideas come true. Webb has left me with high school anecdotes that I will always remember: making rammed earth bricks in art class, visiting JPL lab as a club activity, hiking the Camino de Santiago with my teachers, sleeping in a mid-century monastery, and of course, designing and building my very first architecture project on the Webb campus. My advice for you, future Webbies, is to enjoy your four years with a curious heart and an explorative mind. Embrace all the possibilities that this place provides and make your high school life memorable for your entire life."

Step 4

Orchestra and Band Auditions (Optional)

Please submit a short video by May 1, 2024. Audition videos should be submitted online via Canvas. Login instructions will be sent via email in late April.

At the beginning of the video state your full name. Record one to two minutes of solo playing (piano accompaniment is okay but not necessary) of a piece that best represents your abilities. Please include two scales of your choice (up to two octaves). We should be able to see your face and your hands as you are playing your instrument.

We are not looking for a perfectly polished performance, but want to see how you might fit into our instrumental groups at Webb. Please DO NOT send us a professionally made video as they often use post-production techniques that get in the way of our assessment process. Videos should be recorded on a cell phone and submitted via the Canvas portal. The submission may also be a Youtube link uploaded to the Canvas portal.

Questions? Please email Mrs. Silva (winds, brass, and percussion) and Mr. Champion (strings).
