Where do you call home?

I was born in Los Angeles and now call West Hollywood my home!

What are you involved in on campus?

On campus, I am the president of Student Government, captain of the swim team, on the girl’s water polo team and I have also done the fall play for the past three years!

What’s your favorite Webb memory?

I have so many favorite memories at Webb! One of my favorite memories is the entire swim season of my junior year. I was able to get to know and get close to so many amazing people which made the entire season so much fun and it also made practice something that I would look forward to everyday. Another one of my favorite memories is when my friends and I built a blanket fort after exams were over in the South Hutch lounge. Our blanket forts were amazing and we ate so many snacks. We made chocolate dipped apples and watched classic early 2000 movies.

What advice would you give prospective students?

A piece of advice I would give is don’t be nervous, just be yourself and attend the admission events. I think that being yourself is so important because then we can learn so much more about you! Also, you don’t need to be nervous. The admission team is super nice and helpful! Attending the admissions events is really important so that you can learn more about Webb and see if it is a really good fit for you!

What is your favorite class at Webb?

My all-time favorite class is Honors Creative Writing. My instructor Dr. Maxon is so supportive, and I can write about whatever I want. I have always feared expressing my feelings to anybody because that would make me vulnerable. This class helped me to overcome my greatest fear.

I was born in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, but I moved to San Diego when I was three and have lived there ever since!

What’s your favorite food?

I love Korean food! I’m Korean-American, so I’ve grown up eating my family’s traditional home-cooked meals. I don’t think I could name a favorite dish (there are too many!), but I find a lot of comfort in hot, spicy stews — kimchijigae (kimchi stew) and budaejigae (army stew) are two that instantly come to mind.

What are you involved in on campus?

In leadership, I am currently the head South Hutch prefect and the liaison to BIPOC residential advisors. I’m also an active athlete; I’m co-captain of the VWS water polo and swim team, and I help manage the WSC water polo team. Additionally, I work closely with Webb’s DEI program and am involved in the Empowering Student Voices Initiative (ESVI), Asian Affinity Group, LGBTQ+ Affinity Group, and BIPOC Residential Affinity Group. As an avid reader and writer, I co-lead the Bookworm Club, but I also participate in many other clubs, such as the GSA, Korean Culture Club, and many more!

What’s your favorite memory from Unbounded Days?

I went camping in the Channel Islands during my sophomore year. I love traveling and experiencing the outdoors, so I was so grateful to have the opportunity to see all the nature that makes up Santa Cruz Island. On our last day, we went on a hike to see the sunset from a cliffside view, and I took so many pictures I thought my phone was going to run out of storage. It was so beautiful and the best way to conclude our three-day trip off the grid.

My favorite Webb tradition would have to be one that isn’t widely known, but it is brick painting in the theater. When our theater seniors graduate, they paint a brick on the back wall of the theater, behind the stage. This is a full-circle tradition that I am very excited to do when I graduate.

We all hung out together and went to casino night, ordered food, hangout outside, and just got to know each other. We are all still friends to this day and it was just a really fun time because I was able to hang out with new people and really connect with them.
