Residential Life

Weekends

Webb is a busy place on weekends. A selection of fun activities sponsored by leadership groups and clubs are offered on campus. All of these are found on the Clubs & Social Calendar in our student information system (SIS). Larger events, such as Webb Day or the Prom, are featured on Webb’s All-Schools Calendar.

We also provide weekend runs into Los Angeles or to nearby Claremont Village on Friday evenings, Saturday day and evening and Sunday. These runs are published weekly through the Student News group on Outlook, and students sign up in advance by following the included link.

Students are encouraged to plan their weekends with a balanced approach — some academic work, healthy outdoor activities and relaxing time with friends and family.

On Campus

There’s always an assortment of weekend activities, ranging from movie nights, barbecues and karaoke to club-sponsored events like paintball, laser tag and teacher-organized activities like ice cream making, knitting and baking. Students can also make snack runs to nearby markets!

For Webb athletes, Saturday is frequently a game day. Student drama performances, dance company shows and concerts are often held on Saturday and Sunday nights. Other special weekend events include Theme Week, L.A. Times Cultural Show, Webb Day, other student dances and the Webb Jubilee music festival.

Los Angeles & Beyond

The weekends are also a chance for students to explore the many landmarks and cultural attractions of the greater Los Angeles area, including the Huntington Library, Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) or the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA). Students also participate in trips to Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, Universal Studios and home games for L.A.’s various sports teams!

Mountains, Beaches and Desert

For students looking to spend more time in the great outdoors, there are also regular outings to Southern California beaches, plus hiking, camping, and skiing excursions. With so many choices for fun and adventure, the real question isn’t what to do over the weekend, but how to fit it all in!
