Webb Schools Celebrate Commencement Weekend

Excitement is building across the Webb campus as Commencement 2022 approaches. Our seniors have returned from exciting trips to the Grand Canyon and Yosemite, schoolwide recognition ceremonies are scheduled today, Friday, June 3, and commencements are set for Saturday.

Internet star Dr. Sandra Lee Rebish ’88 – better known as “Dr. Pimple Popper” – will deliver the commencement keynote address for Vivian Webb School at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

Rebish is a board-certified dermatologist who has well over 10 million followers on social media platforms, more than 3 billion views on YouTube, a skin care line, a book and a highly rated television series on TLC.

She serves on Webb’s Board of Trustees and, during the pandemic, has participated in Webb’s Medical Advisory Board. The board meets weekly to review Webb’s health status and provide guidance to Head of Schools Taylor B. Stockdale.

Rebish is also the mother of two Webb students, Chance ’23 and Stratton ’24.

“I’m excited about the opportunity to share my journey with the Class of 2022,” Rebish said. “Webb is one of those rare, special places that leave an indelible mark in our lives. Now, this new class is ready to take what they have learned at Webb and begin the next step in their journeys.”

This year’s Webb School of California keynote speaker will be entrepreneur and philanthropist Blake Johnson ’95

Johnson is a Los Angeles-based entrepreneur who has founded and sold several businesses valued at more than $1 billion, including Byte, a direct-to-consumer dental aligner company that Forbes lauded as the fastest company ever to reach a billion in valuation not funded by venture capital or outside investors.

Johnson is also active in multiple philanthropic endeavors. He created the Blake Johnson Alliance to inject innovative approaches into community support. While running Byte during the pandemic, he converted his 3D printers to make masks, face shields and ventilator parts for frontline healthcare providers.

Johnson was honored by Webb in 2020 with an Alumni Outstanding Achievement Award

“My Webb education has played a part in every success I’ve had – it taught me to think, to lead, to have a great work ethic,” he said.
