An Amazing Year in College Admissions: The Class of 2023

While it is true that some 80 percent of the nearly 1,700 accredited four-year colleges and universities in the U.S. admit more than 50 percent of applicants, there are now over 50 highly selective colleges and universities in the U.S. with less than a 20 percent admit rate and 20 of them with less than a 10 percent. At a place like Stanford University, you find as low as 3 percent and growing applicant pool to boot.

“The Class of 2023 stared down such daunting odds and worked hard to find the best fit for their college experience. They did a spectacular job as students at Webb. I am so proud of them all. They leave Webb ready and well prepared for the next stop on their journey,” says Dean of College Guidance Hector Martinez.

Members of the Class of 2023 were admitted to the lion’s share of the top colleges and universities in the country, including Stanford, Columbia, Penn, Dartmouth, Cornell, Chicago, Northwestern, Duke, Johns Hopkins, Rice, Georgetown, Washington University St. Louis, Tufts, and Carnegie Mellon.

The Class of 2023 was also very interested in and successful at seeking admission to our top liberal arts colleges—Williams, Carleton, Colorado College, and The Claremont Colleges. In addition to these, Webb students received multiple offers to such colleges as Amherst, Barnard, Wellesley, Boston College, Emory, University of Virginia, Babson, Northeastern, Colby and Colgate. Our students also found great success applying to the four most popular colleges in America—UCLA, UC Berkeley, USC, and NYU (a quarter of the senior class received a total of 38 acceptances to these leading institutions in higher education).

In fact, our goal at Webb is for every student to look for and find the right college fit for them.

Congratulations to all of our graduates as we wish them well in college and beyond!
