Webb Seniors Named Nat’l Merit Semifinalists, Commended Students

Seven seniors from the Webb School of California and Vivian Webb School have been named National Merit Semifinalists after scoring in the top 1% on the PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test in fall 2021.

An additional 17 Webb seniors were named National Merit Commended Students after placing in the top 4 percent of scorers on the PSAT/NMSQT.

The exam was administered to 1.5 million students across the U.S. From that number, 50,000 top performers were identified on a state-by-state basis. The top 16,000 were named semifinalists; the next 34,000 were honored as commended students. California has one of the six highest score requirements in the nation for semifinalists.

In winter 2023, the scholarship program will name about 15,000 students as finalists. From that number, the organization, colleges and sponsoring corporations will award scholarships in spring and summer.
