Hanbo Xu ’25 wins Grand Prize in instrumental competition
Webb clarinetist Hanbo Xu ’25 is the Grand Prize Winner in the 37th Annual Pasadena Showcase House Instrumental Competition.
The competition is open to string, woodwind, and brass musicians who are full-time high school students living and studying in Los Angeles County. Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra members sit on the competition’s judging panel.

Webb Clarinetist wins Concerto Competition
Clarinetist Hanbo Xu WSC ’25 won the Claremont Young Musicians Orchestra’s Concerto Competition on November 18. He will perform his winning concerto at the Season Finale Concert on Sunday, June 2, at 7 pm, in the Bridges Hall of Music at Pomona College.
