Dayun Suh ’24 publishes rare fossil research

Dayun Suh ’24 recently published research on a rare fossil tuna from the Duho Formation (Miocene) of South Korea. Her team’s research suggests the fossil could be a previously undiscovered species. She began independent research into the fossil while studying at Webb, receiving research mentorship from Alf Museum curator Dr. Balisi.
Fun fact from Dr. Farke: The fossil tuna Dayun researched is roughly the same age as the fossils Webbies unearth in Barstow.
