Christopher Jobe '68

Christopher Jobe ’68, MD, is Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Loma Linda University, School of Medicine. He is an internationally renowned lecturer on conditions of the shoulder. Jobe is also the medical director for several local professional sports teams, and he volunteers extensively through his church. Jobe makes a brief appearance in the documentary Emmanuel's Gift, narrated by Oprah Winfrey, which tells the story of a disabled man from Ghana, West Africa and the medical assistance he receives from Jobe and a team from Loma Linda.

In 2011, Jobe returned to campus and gave WSC students a first-hand account of his experiences in Haiti helping victims of the catastrophic earthquake. Jobe was among a dozen people from the Loma Linda University and Medical Center who traveled to Hopital Adventiste d'Haiti in Port-au-Prince to assist with trauma services.
