Debbie Lai '08

Debbie Lai ’08 is a Strategic Partnerships Manager at Google. Debbie has worked for Google for almost 4 years on a variety of projects and teams, starting as an intern on their Policy Team while in college. She led Asia Partnerships for Solve X, an initiative to identify and promote breakthrough technologies; was an Ads Policy Specialist where she created and executed policies to govern over $42 billion in revenue while defining the Google brand and AdWords as the premier destination for online advertising; and was also an Emerging Markets Program Manager where she grew internet literacy and Google product engagement in emerging markets through education.

As a junior at Brown University, Debbie was the Executive Director of the 2011 Ivy Film Festival. Held annually at Brown, the Ivy Film Festival is the largest student-run film festival in the world and attracts many top filmmakers and actors. The 2011 festival featured a talk by actor James Franco, moderated by Charlie Rose, and a keynote speech by Academy Award-winning screenwriter Aaron Sorkin.
Debbie has a BA in Economics and East Asian Studies from Brown.
