Swimming & Diving

Swimmers and divers compete as individuals, but it’s all about the team! Webb has mounted incredible successes in the pool over the years. VWS has held six league championships (most recently in 1992) and WSC has held 11 league championships (most recently in 2003). Recent individual swimmers to become CIF champions include VWS’s Rylie Brick ’19 in 2018 and 2019, WSC’s Adrian Hui ’15 in 2015 and and WSC’s Kevin Ren ’22 in 2021.

Coach Ken Rosenfeld serves as the coach of both WSC and VWS swim and dive teams. Rosenfeld’s swimming and water polo experience throughout high school and college provided him substantial athletic and coaching experience.

He has coached swimming and water polo at both Temple City High School and Pasadena City College, and he has been coaching Webb’s swimming team since 2005.

Rosenfeld describes his team as supportive, driven, determined and kind. He believes that the coed team strives for unity while creating a spirit of comradery and competition.

Rosenfeld doesn’t believe in cutting athletes, and anyone who wants to be on the team is welcome. Swim is a team sport and growth occurs outside of your comfort zone.

“Leadership is not based upon athletic ability,” Rosenfeld said. “Push hard, dig deep, Webb swim, Webb win!”

Rosenfeld also teaches in Webb’s Humanities Department and serves as dean of student life.
